Fr. Leo Kosch

Pastor 

Fr. Leo Kosch was born in Columbus, Nebraska in 1967.  He is the 7th out of 9 children, and his parents are Joe and Wilma Kosch of Columbus.  His name is pronounced “Kush” as in “cushion.”  He attended St. Bonaventure’s grade school and Scotus Jr. Hi., and he graduated from Lakeview Public High School in Columbus in 1985.  He attended UNL for two years and then Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary in Maryland, and was ordained a priest in 1993. 

For the first 22 of his 29 years as a priest, he taught at one of the Diocesan high schools, teaching religion at various grade levels 7-12. 

His parish assignments were St. John’s in Lincoln (1993-95); St. Michael’s in Hastings (1995-96); Presentation Church (Marietta) in rural Bellwood and teaching at Aquinas High School (1996-2004); St. Mary’s in Davey and teaching at Pius High School (2004-2011);  St. John’s in Prague and Sts. Cyril and Methodius (Plasi) and teaching at Neumann High School (2011-2015); and most recently seven years at Sacred Heart Church in Lincoln (2015-2022).
