A Little History of St. Joseph Catholic Church

     Bishop James O'Connor blessed the first church on June 2, 1878. The present church building was dedicated in 1925 and the stained glass windows were added in 1939. The interior of the church was redecorated in the 1940's and was renovated in 1973.
    A Parish Center built in 1981, at a cost of $500,000, was paid for by Future Fund Drives and Vision 2000. In 1995, the Commitment to Our Faith Campaign raised $500,000 to repair the church and school roofs, restore the interior of the church, remodel the school, and to increase the principal of the Saint Joseph School Endowment Fund. The church roof was repaired in the summer of 1995. Mass was celebrated in the Parish Center from January to April 1996, while the interior of the church was being restored. A tornado hit the town of Beatrice on May 6, 1996. Terra cotta stones from the church bell tower blew off and damaged the church roof. Monday - Friday. 15 minutes before all daily Masses

Saturday 4:00pm - 5:25pm; First Saturday 11:00am - noon.

Wednesday 5:00pm – 6:00pm Any other time by appointment.

Baptism Parents are asked to attend one 60 min. baptism preparation class. Call the rectory office to schedule. Godparents must be Catholics in good standing; a letter from the godparents’ pastor is requested.

Anointing/Hospital Visits Please notify the pastor through the office when you go to the hospital.

Matrimony Contact the parish first—6 to 12 months ahead of time. The FOCCUS assessment process must be completed before a wedding date is set.
